Ihre zutaten sind verblüffend schlicht, Natronlauge und Wasser. Bringt man konzentrierte Natronlauge, in Kontakt mit Wasser, kommt es zu einer Reaktion, bei der Energie frei wird, in form von Wärme. Bis fast 50 grad steigt die Temperatur der Lösung an. Es kann zum heizen für moderne Heizungen mit Temperaturen von 40 grad verwendet werden.
